Alert for individuals investing in Public Provident Fund 👉

When opening a PPF account for your child, only one parent, either the mother or the father, can initiate the account for the child. It's not possible for both parents to open PPF accounts for the same child simultaneously.

An individual is allowed to open just one PPF account.

The PPF account has a maximum annual investment limit of Rs 1.5 lakh. Exceeding it can lead to account deactivation.

A PPF account cannot be jointly opened. Doing so can results in the account being categorized as inactive by the bank or post office.

After 15 years, notify the post office or bank if you plan to continue your PPF account. Failure to do so can make the account inactive.
