NLC India, a navratna company under the coal ministry, on 9 October announced that it has emerged as the successful bidder to supply power to Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 2.64 per unit.

The company, in its exchange filing to BSE, said it has emerged as the successful bidder to supply power for a total capacity of 810 megawatts for a price of Rs 2.64 per unit, and the company has received a letter of intent for the same from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited.

the firm had participated in a tender issued by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited for procurement of power from 810 MW Grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic power projects, which are to be set up in 2,000 MW Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

NLC India currently has a total installed renewable energy capacity of 1,431.06 MW and has 2,110 MW of renewable energy projects in the pipeline.

The company has proposed to develop a renewable energy capacity of 6,031 MW as per its corporate plan for 2030 that will offset carbon emissions to the tune of 46,628.56 tonnes with a lifetime electricity generation of approximately 48,170 million units.
